Tabatha Gray, psychiatrist, and necromancer has come home to start a private practice and possibly a normal life. Instead she comes face to face with a child killer, is asked to help solve a 20-year-old murder case and bring down an organization that wants her dead.
Detective Derek Bainbridge tries to ignore the instant connection he feels with this beautiful but possibly dangerous necromancer. He instinctively knows Tabatha is the only one who can help him solve a string of brutal child killings. And maybe steal his heart.

A necromancer, shapeshifter and a firestarter--oh my! For readers loving urban paranormal fantasy, this book is a fast-paced, intricate read. C.J. Parker keeps the reader turning the pages... And sets the stage for a series involving this unlikely trio.

Fugue Macabre: Ghost Dance is an edge-of-your-seat read with a lot of tension, action and suspense. CJ Parker really knows New Orleans and her writing takes you to the heart of the city, humidity and all. I found this book exciting and a real page-turner. I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys superb characterization and excellent plot lines. This is a well-crafted tale and one that would be enjoyable to read many times. This is definitely a keeper!

They say people always remember the beginning and ending of things they read, but I will remember every detail of C.J. Parker’s book. The characters and scenes will haunt me for a long time to come. I could see this book on the best sellers list, or even as a hit movie.
