While shopping in a local bookstore in post-Katrina New Orleans, Heather Flanagan Kerry is startled when Sarah, a young clerk, asks her if she ever had a son and gave him up for adoption. Now a successful professional, Heather denies ever having a child, however, Sarah’s revelation that her husband is part-Asian tells Heather her past has caught up with her.
Wesley Chou, now a prominent oncologist hasn’t heard from his first love, Heather, since both their parents forced them apart in their teens right after they gave up their infant newborn son for adoption. He’s surprised when Heather contacts him to tell him their past has come calling.
Fate draws them together again when their long lost son, Ezra, and his wife bring their infant daughter to Wesley. The child has leukemia, and Wesley contacts Heather as a possible marrow donor to save the child’s life. Together, Heather and Wesley must evaluate if they are strong enough to rekindle their love, face society’s condemnation of their past, and their own son’s anger.
Can their love survive the passage of time and the secrets that could destroy them?

COFFEE TIME ROMANCE REVIEW

This is a sensational story that is filled with chaotic twists and turmoil of emotions. From the first page you are ensnared, and from there you will be pulled into this deeply scarred and fascinating tale. Ms. Russell does an outstanding job of creating characters with deep scars and emotional depths that are sure to touch your heart. Like an onion, this story has many layers, and one by one you peel away to find the “buried truth”. This book will make you sigh, cry, smile and gasp and then coming to the end you feel good. This is one of those extraordinary books that come along rarely. This reader is glad it fell in my hands.

ROMANTIC CRUSH JUNKIES BOOK REVIEWS - ♥♥♥♥
This is a genuine heart breaking story is about an everlasting love between its hero Wes and the love of his life, heroine, Heather. At eighteen the two were inseparable but their different cultures and parents had a very big impact in what they gave up and who they would turn out to be. This story is a combination of heart wrenching and soul searching all mixed into one. Ms. Russell's flesh and blood characters with its roller coaster of emotions had me grabbing for a Kleenex box. I'm not usually a tear jerker kind of girl but these characters grab you from the start and resonate with you long after you put the story down. Ms. Russell's has shone this reader she writes with her heart because she made me feel every moment I was on this journey with Heather and Wes.
I highly recommend you place "Buried Truth" on top of your download TBR Pile and make sure the tissues are nice and handy.
